Adventures of Auctioneer Woman

People ask me, "What made you decide to be an Auctioneer Woman and Lady Liquidator? I tell them that I wanted to have more unique business credentials and a more diversified collection of licenses and experiences than many of my competitors. When I thought about people, businesses, and estates having growing needs and wanting to turn things into cash, I knew that I wanted to participate in being able to help them. As a Birthday present to myself two years ago I said, Why not do this right now and become and Auctioneer and I did."

The sad truth is that for the Auction Industry, the number of women who are licensed as Auctioneers and Licensed as Auction Business Owners is very low. How would you feel knowing that only about 10 percent of the Auctioneers in the United States are women? What stops more woman from taking on this role and getting this license is something I don't understand. There's no roadblocks here but apparently not enough support and encouragement for more women to get into this profession.

When I mentioned that I wanted to build credentials I was saying that because I already have an MBA in Real Estate Development and Management and a Florida Real Estate Salesperson License to be able to sell real estate and even auction it. A Real Estate License would not qualify me to Auction the contents of the home, the jewelry, the cars, the business, the business assets, the boat or yacht so there was more needed- an Auctioneer license.

It's more time consuming to become an Auctioneer than a Real Estate Salesperson. It takes more hours and you have to do these hours in person- you can't sit behind your computer and get the hours done. You have to participate and show up. There are  fewer places to get Auctioneer education and experience especially in Florida than there are schools to teach you to become a real estate salesperson.

What is fun about becoming an Auctioneer has been knowing that every day is unique and that each person you meet and connect with will have different types of things they want sold and different situations. There's a variety and unique challenges.
